Material Options

Classic
A durable, highly printable structure in matte, gloss, or soft touch. Strong oxygen, light, and aroma barrier for everyday products.

Recyclable
A mono-PE structure that stays compatible with PE recycling streams. The EVOH layer provides strong oxygen and aroma protection without giving up recyclability.

Compostable
For brands going fully circular. Shorter shelf-life window than Classic or Recyclable, best for dry goods, lighter protection needs, and faster turnover.
Which Material Is Right for You
Choose the Right Stick Pack Film for Barrier Protection
Choose a stick pack film based on your product’s sensitivity to oxygen, moisture, light, and aroma, as well as its target shelf life. Dylign Classic METPET-based structure provides dependable barrier performance for many dry products, while High Barrier stick pack film adds a foil layer for products that need stronger oxygen and moisture protection. For brands with sustainability goals, recyclable mono-PE/EVOH and compostable kraft/PLA structures are also available. Compare barrier performance, shelf-life needs, finish options, and material structure to choose the right custom stick pack packaging for your product.

Got questions? We've got answers.
How do I choose the right bag size and headspace for popcorn?
Start with the actual popped volume, not just the net weight. Popcorn is lightweight and takes up a lot of space, so kernel size, density, target fill weight, breakage sensitivity, and desired filled appearance all affect the bag dimensions. Dylign lets you customize the size around your product and test the finished fit with a production sample before a larger run.
What barrier does ready-to-eat popcorn need to stay crisp?
Moisture is one of the biggest threats to popcorn texture, while oxygen, oil, aroma, and light can also matter depending on the recipe. Dylign offers different material and barrier options that can be matched to your popcorn, shelf-life goal, and distribution conditions. Oil-rich or strongly seasoned varieties may need more protection than lightly seasoned popcorn.
Does nitrogen flushing determine how long popcorn stays fresh?
Not by itself. Nitrogen flushing can reduce oxygen in the finished pack, but shelf life also depends on the film barrier, seal integrity, recipe, filling conditions, storage, and distribution environment. If your filling line uses nitrogen, the bag material and seals should be specified around the complete packing process, and the final shelf life should be validated with the actual product.
Can I use the same popcorn bag for different flavors?
Often, but the product requirements should be checked first. If the filled volume and packaging performance are similar, the same dimensions may work across several flavors. Cheese, caramel, buttered, or other oil-rich varieties can have different grease, moisture, and barrier requirements, so the material specification should be confirmed for each application. Different artwork versions are treated as separate specifications when ordering through Dylign.
Are these bags suitable for microwave popcorn?
These custom popcorn bags are intended for ready-to-eat popcorn. Microwave or cook-in popcorn packaging requires a different structure designed specifically for heating and cooking conditions, so it should not be treated as the same packaging application.
Can I test my popcorn packaging before placing a large order?
Yes. Dylign starts from 100 units per specification, and you can review your design in 3D and see the landed price before ordering. A production sample lets you fill the bag with your actual popcorn and check volume, headspace, material, print, seals, and overall shelf appearance before scaling.
