Custom beer boxes should hold sealed cans or bottles securely while giving the release a clear, branded presentation for retail, gifting, and events. Plan the carton around container size, count, packed weight, arrangement, and expected condensation exposure.

Material Options

White (SBS)
A thin gloss, matte, or soft-touch film over the print deepens color and adds water and scuff resistance. Best for premium retail and artwork that needs to pop and hold up.

Kraft
Natural brown board finished with a varnish and no plastic film, so printed colors come out softer and pure whites need white ink. Best for organic, eco-forward brands going for a raw, natural look.
Which Material Is Right for You
Choose Your Board by Beer Handoff

Cold-Pack Handoffs
Cold-packed releases and repeated handling gain stronger scuff and splash resistance; cooler performance still needs confirmation, and recycling needs to be checked locally.
Use White · Classic
Durability:★★★★
Structure:SBS 18pt+Plastic film

Dry Taproom Shelves
Dry taproom shelves gain clean white print and a widely recyclable varnish route, with less protection from condensation and repeated wet handling.
Use White · Recyclable
Durability:★★★
Structure:SBS 18pt+ Varnish

Natural Brewery Gifts
Dry gift and limited-release moments gain warm paper texture, while muted print contrast and moisture sensitivity need planning.
Use Kraft
Durability:★★★
Structure:Kraft board + Varnish

Start with the actual can or bottle dimensions, pack count, arrangement, and packed weight. Account for container diameter, height, closures, base support, and the finished pack footprint, then confirm the fit with a production sample.
The board and finish should be selected for the expected cold and moisture exposure. Condensation from chilled cans or bottles can soften paperboard and affect print appearance, so test the complete pack under the intended cooler, storage, and handling conditions.
Size the carton around the actual container arrangement with enough support to control movement without creating excessive panel stress. If the pack requires separation or additional support, account for that in the structural setup and verify the filled pack with a production sample.
Treat the Folding Carton as secondary packaging for retail, gifting, pickup, or hand-carry use unless the complete packed system has been qualified for transit. Parcel shipping may require a separate corrugated shipping system, cushioning, or container separation based on the pack and distribution method.
Use the carton for brewery branding, beer style, release artwork, pack count, UPC, and other approved product information. Keep the hierarchy clear, and verify all packaging artwork against the labeling and market requirements that apply to the beer before production.
Yes. Custom beer boxes start from 100 units per specification, and you can order a production sample before a larger run. Use the sample to check container fit, board feel, print, closure, pack movement, and filled presentation.
