The Brand
KOOK makes reef-safe hair and skin care for life in the ocean. The name is a badge of honor, meant for people who are wildly passionate and unafraid to stand out. Every product is made in Los Angeles and tested where it matters most: in the water.
Our first call with founder CK wasn't about packaging. It was about diving. Then she paused: "Most cosmetics are basically toxic." That conviction became KOOK.
Her vision was clear. Getting it into a box turned out to be confusing and expensive.

The Challenge
Suppliers kept pushing 10,000-unit MOQs, at costs that felt unfair for a small brand. CK sent us her sample box, and we set two goals: better feel, lower cost.
The harder part was the color. KOOK's brand color is Pantone 9064 C, a refined pale pistachio cream, and it left no room for error. Finishes can change how a color reads, and materials can shift its depth, so when color and handfeel both need to be exact, they sometimes clash.

The Process
We ran print tests in parallel for spot-color matching, checking each one with instruments under a light box and again in natural light.
Our approach was to lock the material, adjust the finish, and close the loop with one QC standard.

The Result
Thicker board, cleaner print, and Pantone 9064 C matched on every box, while lowering total cost by about 30% and easing MOQs.
Since then we've supported sachets, tins and bottles, specifying the most sustainable materials feasible to honor KOOK's ocean-first commitment.
