The Brand
Salon Metropolitan was founded to bring a refined, high-touch experience to daily self-care rituals, and every detail of the line is curated to convey understated luxury. They came to us wanting a magnetic rigid box wrapped in leather-textured paper, plus a napkin sachet with a raw, highly reflective metallic finish.

The Challenge
Both requests ran into the same wall from opposite directions.
A rigid box cannot fold flat, so it ships assembled and takes several times the volume of a folding carton. On a limited budget, freight and storage alone were enough to push the package out of reach before the leather-textured wrap was even priced.
The sachet had a different problem: time. The launch date was close and there was no window for traditional physical sampling, which normally takes weeks. A metallic finish is exactly the kind of thing nobody can judge from a screen.

The Solution
The box. We moved from a pre-assembled rigid box to a collapsible folding structure that ships completely flat. To keep the tactile depth of leather without the material cost, we engineered a custom embossing pattern directly into heavy paperboard, which gives the surface three-dimensional texture at a fraction of the material and freight expense.
The sachet. Instead of one sample and a wait, we produced two film swatches on an expedited schedule: one with a selective white ink underprint so the gold prints as ink, and one with no white underprint at all, letting the raw metallic sheen of the VMPET layer come straight through. Seeing both side by side, they picked the high-shine version and went straight to production.

The Result
A packaging system that holds the brand's tactile standard inside a budget that could not absorb a rigid box, and a metallic sachet decided on physical swatches rather than on a screen, inside a timeline that had no room for a sampling round.
